Therapeutic Parenting Support For Foster and Adoptive Families
Children who have experienced early adversity, trauma or disrupted attachments often struggle with emotional regulation, trust and behaviour. Our Therapeutic Parenting programme supports carers to understand what lies beneath behaviour and respond in ways that build safety, connection and long-term change.
Healing happens in everyday relationships — not just in therapy sessions.
Our DNA Framework: PACE + The Three RRRs
Our approach reflects our Therapeutic Parenting DNA model, integrating:
PACE
Playfulness – Acceptance – Curiosity – Empathy
PACE helps carers:
- Stay emotionally regulated during conflict
- Respond with curiosity rather than criticism
- Maintain connection while setting boundaries
- Reduce shame and build felt safety
The Three RRRs
Regulate – Relate – Reason
This sequence reflects how the brain processes stress:
- Regulate – Calm the nervous system first.
- Relate – Strengthen connection and safety.
- Reason – Support reflection, learning and accountability.
When carers consistently apply PACE and the RRRs, children begin to feel safer, more understood and better able to manage their emotions.
